Every single day across America, countless numbers of children of all ages are sexually abused. Statistics show that this crime is very real & more rampant than ever in today’s society.
At SpeakingOut, our primary focus is on raising awareness by educating parents & grandparents on this horrific crime against the most innocent of victims… children. In addition, we educate caregivers, teachers, or anyone who will listen. One of the ways in which we do this is by holding monthly Workshops called “A Safe Place”. Our workshops are free, interactive & informative 2-hour sessions. The goal is for adults to walk away from the workshop with much more knowledge on Child Sexual Abuse than when they came in… feeling empowered! We try to present information in a way that touches the hearts of participants by talking about our own personal experiences with this crime. The point… it is the responsibility of all in authority over children to step up & start SpeakingOut for children. So who is in authority over a child? Just about everyone. We, as adults need to do what we can to prevent this crime and be the voice for children who are violated & then silenced by their abuser.
At SpeakingOut, we understand that Child Sexual Abuse is not something most people want to think about. I urge you to consider this… children who are violated in this horrific way have no choice but to think about it & in most cases will never tell anyone. In other words, these children suffer alone.
